Since our pets can’t tell us how they really feel, we recommend a complete physical examination at least once a year.  The exam is an opportunity to develop a picture of your pet’s overall health.  The annual exam can also highlight potential medical issues before they become serious concerns.  As your partner in your pet’s health, you can ask us important questions about your pet’s health, habits and daily care. No question is too small or too silly.  It is our pleasure to address your concerns.

During your pet’s annual exam, our veterinarians will perform a thorough physical check up.  Any abnormalities will be noted and explored if necessary. In addition, annual vaccinations such as Distemper/Parvo/Lepto and Rabies, and sometimes Bordatella, are usually administered.  Furthermore, your pet will have a blood sample examined for the presence of heartworms. Finally, a fecal sample will be examined for the presence of any intestinal parasites. For our feline patients, you may want to bring a recent fecal sample for us to examine. For older pets, bloodwork may be suggested during your appointment. This bloodwork can help to better diagnose any medical concerns. Most tests can be processed in our lab while you are here.
