Puppies and kittens should begin their visits to the veterinarian at 6 weeks of age for their first set of vaccinations.
Puppies will receive their first Distemper/Hepatitis/Parvo/Para Influenza combo vaccine at 6 weeks of age. 3-4 weeks later (at 9-10 weeks of age), they should return to receive a second booster of this vaccine(DHPP). 3-4 weeks afterward, they should return for their third booster to include the Lepto vaccine and at 15-16 weeks of age puppies receive their DHLPP and Rabies vaccine.
Kittens will receive their first feline viral combo vaccine. This covers feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (FVRCP) and feline leukemia virus (FeLV). Next, the kittens should return for a booster of this in 3-4 weeks (at 9-10 weeks of age). Finally, the kitten should return at 13-14 weeks of age for a 3rd booster and their Rabies vaccine.
