Boarding Policies

We understand that there are times when you need to be away from home. It is important that your pet receives daily care in a safe and loving environment. We are happy to provide boarding for current, established clients whose pets are up to date on vaccinations. For the safety of our staff, we do not allow aggressive pets to board.

When boarding at AHK, our boarders enjoy:

  • Immaculately clean cages and runs
  • Outdoor leash walks
  • Fresh bedding and daily housekeeping
  • Individualized care
  • Attentive and trained staff
  • Veterinary medical services (if needed)

Boarding Requirements

  • All pets must be free from all external and internal parasites.
  • Dogs must be current with the following vaccinations: Distemper, Bordatella, Rabies and Canine influenza.
  • Cats must be current with the following vaccinations: Distemper (FVRCP) and Rabies.
Boarding FAQs
Are reservations required?
Reservations are required to bring your pet in for boarding.
What hours are drop off/ pick up?
Boarding pets may come in during regular business hours M-F 8:00am-11:30am and 1:00pm - 4:30pm or Sat 8:00am-10:30am.
Do I need to bring anything with my pet to board?
All medications need to be checked in with your pet. You may provide your own food/treats if desired. We do not accept toys, beds, or blankets because of the choking hazard.
Will my pet have exercise while boarding?
Your dog is walked 2-3 times everyday while in our care.
What is the cost to board per night?
$20 there is a discount for the 2nd pet sharing the same kennel.
Will you board my aggressive pet?
For the safety of our staff, we do not allow aggressive pets to board.
How often are the kennels cleaned?
All of the kennels are cleaned and sterilized twice a day and as needed.
Will my cat be boarded with dogs?
The cat boarding area is in a separate area of the clinic. Pets will not mingle with other animals unless they are from the same house/owner.
